Ruth Landy is a writer, communicator and second-generation Holocaust descendant. She’s also a memory keeper. The daughter of a German Jewish father forced to flee Nazi Germany while helping save his family, she embraced communication as a powerful means to counter hate and foster empathy.
Now based in San Francisco, Ruth has published in The Guardian, Whetstone and Trink magazines. Her career as a video producer and global advocate for UNICEF and WHO spans two decades and five continents. Ruth’s credits also include award-winning independent documentary films. As living memory of the Holocaust fades, she’s harnessing the power of words and images to carry its legacy forward — an invitation to apply History’s crucial lessons today. Her writing also celebrates healing gained from a personal reckoning with the past, and family food traditions shared around the table.
